28. Excellent Condition / Collector's Item / Coatac BEAULITE 2807 & 2808 (2 Items)

The Fly Reel Kotak Beaulite 2807/2808 (British Vintage) is a model based on the classic fly reel Shakespeare Beaulite 2807, which appeared in the 1970s. It was manufactured by J.W. Young & Sons, a British reel maker known for producing reels for many prestigious brands. This model follows in the tradition of lightweight click-drag fly reels, exemplified by British masterpieces like the Hardy Featherweight and the Orvis CFO, and features a simple and reliable construction.

The original Beaulite series, from which this model is derived, was primarily manufactured from the early 1970s to around the 1980s. The reel name BEAULITE 2807/2808 is derived from the French word Beau (beautiful) combined with Lite (light), and is pronounced Byooraito. It was first released in Japan in 1974, with Noris Shakespeare as the importer and Ko-ei Fishing Tackle (Kotak) as the distributor. Ko-ei Fishing Tackle changed its company name to Kotak in 1984.

With its lightweight aluminum body and simple click-drag mechanism, this reel is ideally sized for stream fly fishing for species like Yamame and Iwana. It is now a collectible vintage fly reel. Why not consider this set?
