【Ultra Rare】Original Vintage 1961 First Edition Debut Ken with Flock Hair [Collector's Condition]

This is an extremely rare Ken, the very first edition of Barbie's boyfriend to be born into this world.

This vintage doll has been carefully stored in a dark place. Although it is approximately 65 years old, the clothing and other parts are in excellent condition. The flock hair is free of any bald spots, making it a Collector's Condition item in good shape.

Barbie was born in 1959, and her boyfriend appeared about two years later. In the early 1961 release, Ken featured flocking to represent a crew cut. However, because the flocking (powder-like hair) would easily wear off, making the doll look unappealing, flocking was discontinued in 1962, and the hair was changed to painted hair.

As these were only produced for one year, the production numbers were low. It is very rare to find a Ken with perfectly intact flock hair. This doll is considered extremely valuable as it is typically only found in unused condition or from collectors who displayed it, meaning it was rarely played with.
