OOFOS was born as a pioneer in recovery footwear.
OOFOS is a recovery footwear brand developed over two and a half years by a team of veterans involved in product development for athletes, trainers, and major shoe manufacturers in Cohasset, Massachusetts, in 2011.
They noticed that while shoes that put a lot of impact on the soles of the feet were abundant in the world, there were no shoes designed to absorb impact and promote recovery. Thus, they created OOFOS and became pioneers in recovery footwear.
The special OOfoam material used in OOFOS products differs from typical EVA foam midsoles, which are designed to promote forward momentum. OOfoam can reduce impact rebound by 37%, thereby alleviating the impact on the soles of the feet upon landing. This reduces the burden on the knees, hips, and back. Furthermore, the ergonomically designed footbed gently cradles the feet and provides excellent arch support.
