Rosewood Shamisen Body

Approximately 100 cm in length and 2.8 cm in width.

This is a size often referred to as half-Tsugaru by musical instrument shops, designed for those who find standard Tsugaru shamisen too heavy.
While it is a medium-gauge shamisen, this particular one is on the thicker side, allowing for a playing experience closer to that of a Tsugaru shamisen.
Offered at less than one-third the price of a rosewood Tsugaru shamisen.

Although it incurred significant costs, the shamisen has been professionally maintained at a musical instrument shop. This includes re-skinning the surface with a practice-grade skin, repairing the kanberi (a type of crack) and re-lacquering, and adjusting the tuning pegs, so it is ready for immediate use.

It can be separated into three parts. The kanberi has been repaired and the lacquer has been redone, making it as shiny as new.

Although the body is medium-gauge, it has been fitted with thicker practice-grade skin and set up for Tsugaru shamisen practice, making it enjoyable for children or women with less strength.

The case is one I had at home, but it has some wear and tear, so I will include it as a bonus.
