Japanese Traditional Instruments and Street Performance: "Bo Sasara" and "Nankin Tamasudare"
Bo Sasara
A traditional instrument used in the ancient folk song (Kokiriko Bushi) passed down in the World Heritage town of Gokayama. Sound is produced by rubbing a bamboo stick against a wooden stick with wavy grooves on its surface.
The wooden stick has a Kokiriko brand mark, but it appears to be a Bo Sasara.
