Hyoshigi are also called Ongi, Kaishaku, Settaku, or Claves.
They are used in festivals and on stage, and in Buddhism, they are struck to mark the rhythm or pauses during chanting.
These are not simply square-cut pieces of wood. High-quality genuine rosewood is used, and they are shaped and rounded by skilled tropical wood craftsmen for ease of use. Genuine rosewood, which is now rare, is used, producing a clear, resonant sound.
While not new, they are in very beautiful condition. As they are percussion instruments, we ask that those who do not mind minor scratches purchase them, and we accept no claims or returns.
