299.00 $
Description
【Supreme Sound: 1.3 Shaku Solid Zelkova Taiko Drum】
This is a 1.3 shaku nagado-daiko (long-bodied taiko drum) luxuriously crafted from solid zelkova (keyaki), the finest material for taiko drums.
Unlike inexpensive laminated drums (plywood), this hollowed-out drum, carved from a single log, boasts overwhelming durability and a deep, clear resonance.
【Sound Characteristics】
With a head diameter of approximately 40cm, it produces a thick, profound sound that resonates from the depths of your being the moment it's struck.
It possesses a long, rich sustain that smaller drums like the 1.1 shaku cannot achieve, offering a sound quality suitable for the main stage at festivals, ceremonies at temples and shrines, and professional musical performances.
【Condition】
• Body: The powerful and beautiful grain characteristic of zelkova wood emerges, lending it an artistic dignity.
There are no major cracks or damage, and its luster has been maintained.
• Skin: The skin is adequately taut and ready for immediate use. The edge finishing is also meticulously done.
• Hardware: Heavy-duty kan (handles) are attached and are free of any looseness.
【Approximate Dimensions】
• Head Diameter: 40cm (1.3 shaku)
• Body Height: 50cm
*A pair of drumsticks is included.
【Shipping】
As this is a very expensive and heavy instrument, it will be meticulously packed with cushioning material and shipped with the utmost care to prevent damage.
