Miyamoto Unosuke Shoten Heidaiko 1 Shaku Zelkova Body Japanese Drum Traditional Craft

This is a flat taiko drum with a luxurious hollowed zelkova wood body, made by Miyamoto Unosuke Shoten, one of Japan's leading taiko manufacturers.
The striking surface is approximately 31cm (about 1 shaku) and the body width is approximately 12cm, making for a well-balanced size.
The hollowed body, crafted by carefully hollowing out a single log, is highly durable and gains a deeper character with decades or even centuries of use. The powerful and beautiful grain unique to zelkova wood, combined with the deep, resonant, and straight-penetrating sound characteristic of a hollowed body, is truly a mark of first-class quality.
Its dignified appearance, adorned with a shining golden nameplate, is full of elegance that will further enhance any festival or performance setting. We encourage you to consider this exceptional piece, worthy of being called a lifelong treasure, crafted by the prestigious Miyamoto Unosuke Shoten.
