【Hakone Yosegi Pattern】Wooden Naruko 4-piece Set for Yosakoi Dance (Approx. 20 years old)

Wooden naruko with a Yosegi (parquetry) pattern.
Purchased in Hakone approximately 20 years ago.
All four pieces make a rattling sound.

These are traditional naruko used in Yosakoi dancing and feature a design with geometric patterns reminiscent of Yosegi craftsmanship.
They would also make a lovely decorative item. (^^♪

These naruko have never been used for dancing. They were only rattled when purchased.
They were displayed on a sideboard for a few years and then stored long-term in a storage area. There are no major scratches, but there are minor scuffs.
Of course, they still make a sound without any issues.


Hakone Yosegi-zaiku is a traditional craft of Hakone that has continued since the late Edo period, creating geometric patterns by combining the colors of different types of wood.
This item is not made with Yosegi craftsmanship itself, but rather is a highly designed naruko that utilizes a Yosegi-inspired pattern.
Recommended not only for dance use but also as Japanese-style interior decor or for collectors.
