The EZ-Link card vending machines at the airport station did not accept cash.
A minimum balance of $3.00 is required for both MRT (subway) and bus travel.
Regarding top-ups:
At dedicated machines in stations, credit cards can be used for top-ups of $10 or more. Cash can be used for top-ups of $2 bills or higher (coins are not accepted).

You should be able to use the card for one-way travel from the airport to your destination without needing to top up.
If you request a refund at the counter, the card will be collected.
I am selling this because I do not plan to revisit Singapore before the expiration date.
Fares are approximately $1.00 to $2.30. It is very convenient, with discounts available for transfers between MRT and buses within a certain time frame.
