67 Recommended for Beginners: Roasted Bamboo, Clear Lacquer Finish, Classical Style 6-Hole Yonhon-choshi Negishi Shinobue Studio
This instrument is made to the same specifications as the Shishida and Maruyama shinobue flutes.
This flute can be used by both right-handed and left-handed players. It is designed to accommodate fingerings where the second and third holes from the bottom are covered.
Most beginners can produce low notes, but often struggle with high notes or the very high pee sound. Many are concerned about whether their current flute can produce these sounds properly.
This flute was created based on feedback from instructors across various regions, aiming for ease of producing high notes, clear resonance of higher octaves, and affordability.
For beginners, it is recommended to first master the high and higher octave notes before purchasing an expensive flute. It's advised to visit a shop, try playing different flutes, and then buy one that suits you. (Some flutes may look good but cannot produce the higher octave notes.) Additionally, it is said that progress is faster if you start lessons once you can produce a certain range of notes.
To prioritize ease of playing, resonance, and affordability, there may be minor scratches, natural variations in shape, patterns, or slight curves.
An image is provided with a 10mm ball for reference regarding hole size.
Thickness: Approximately 21.8mm at the mouthpiece.
Length: Approximately 46cm.
Mouthpiece opening: Approximately 15mm.
Thickness: Slightly on the thicker side.
(Thicker flutes tend to have better low-note resonance, while thinner flutes tend to produce higher octave notes more easily.)
Wall thickness: 2 out of 5 levels.
(Thicker walls generally improve higher octave notes and resonance, while thinner walls make the flute easier to play.)
Pitch: Approximately 4.5 honchōshi.
Range: Produces clear notes from the fundamental (Ro-on) up to the 5th higher octave.
About Roasted Bamboo: This is the most resonant material among shinobue bamboo. Roasting bamboo thoroughly inside makes it harder and improves its resonance. However, it is difficult to process due to the scarcity of suitable materials.
When made naturally, the resonance is further enhanced. Bamboo grows by competing for sunlight. Therefore, bamboo that has won the competition for light is most suitable for flutes. (We have extensively researched physics utilizing natural principles for many years and can identify bamboo that meets these conditions.)
About Transparent Coating Finish: Since pigments are not used in the coating, the flute is easier to play. Furthermore, by carving grooves inside and allowing the coating to soak in, it becomes even easier to play and improves resonance.
Please Note:
This flute produces very clear high and higher octave notes. When blowing strongly, please ensure there is no one around you.
Regarding Discounts: As this is a handmade item, discounts are not possible. Please understand.
