These are chinos with a rare silhouette, featuring a high waist that tapers significantly towards the hem.
One of the reasons I wanted chinos with this much taper was for tucking into boots.
I created these with the aspiration of a stylish way to tuck chinos into boots.
This taper matches perfectly with boots, as well as sneakers and sandals, eliminating the usual clunky feel of chinos.
I disliked the unrefined look of chinos worn at just the right length, and I was particularly particular about making them a bit longer, so I recommend wearing them with a slight bunch at the hem (this is optional!).
Tapered pants are one of the easiest silhouettes to balance, so they pair well with any top.
They are versatile, from fitted tops to oversized ones.
Tapered pants also make shoe selection easy, as they go well with most shoes and create a well-balanced outfit.
