Toshiba Vacuum Tube 5-inch Reel-to-Reel Tape Recorder - Working / Used Unit GT-610

This is a serviced and operational used Toshiba 5-inch (approx. 12cm diameter) monaural open reel tape recorder.
It features a vacuum tube amplifier with the following tubes:
12AX7, 6B8M, 6ME10 (for the magic eye VU meter). Diodes are used for rectification. You can enjoy its characteristic smooth playback sound.

Model: GT-610. It supports both 50Hz and 60Hz power frequencies. Please specify which you require, as the internal motor pulley will be replaced.
See Photo 6.
Power consumption: AC100V, 45W.

1) Recording, playback, fast forward, rewind, magic eye (during recording only), and left/right brakes are all functioning correctly.
This unit does not have a tape counter.
2) Tape speeds are:
9.5 and 4.75 cm/sec in two steps.
This is achieved by replacing the capstan roller. See Photo 5.
This unit does not have a mechanism for fine-tuning the tape speed. It is at a level that can be listened to normally. Both speeds are approximate. Please refrain from bidding if precise adjustment is required.
3) MIC input is 6.3mm.
A 6.3mm to 3.5mm conversion adapter is included. See Photo 8.
AUX IN (RADIO), external speaker, and monitor outputs are all 3.5mm. This allows for input/output with other audio equipment such as CD players and IC recorders. You can monitor the sound source during recording via headphones.
4) Approximate unit dimensions: Width 285 x Depth 245 x Height 160mm. Weight: approx. 5.6Kg.
5) The unit has been serviced, including internal and external cleaning, lubrication, improving conductivity of electrical contacts, and replacing the rubber belt.
Motor vibration is absorbed using rubber packing, but there is some operational noise and resonance. It may be difficult to use for playback of quiet music such as classical.
6) The operation handle is missing and has been replaced with a similar aftermarket part.
Operation is not affected.
7) The power cord is included and can be stored on the back. See Photo 9.
10) 5-inch reels can be set, and the top cover can be closed with them in place.
11) A partially recorded test tape (recorded on this unit) is included. It is not a full reel but is set with an empty reel. If you do not need it, we will offer a discount of 800 yen. Please message us before purchasing.

There are signs of age, scratches, and some dirt that cannot be removed. Please check the photos.
