【Ultra Rare Vintage】Scubapro Regulator MK VII (Non-functional)
This is a pioneering product from the early days of single-hose regulators.
As BCDs and other equipment were not yet in common use,
it has only one high-pressure port and one low-pressure port.
An aftermarket adapter has been attached to the low-pressure port.
Submersible pressure gauges were not yet common, so
a reed was built into the first stage. When the remaining pressure drops below a certain level,
the reed vibrates with exhaled air,
alerting the user to decreasing pressure with an alarm sound.
I purchased this item in '79 from a pro shop where it had remained unsold due to its high price at the time.
I used it for about 20 years.
It was extremely robust and offered absolute reliability.
It is quite heavy.
During that time and even now, I have never seen this product used by divers, either domestically or internationally.
Rubber parts such as the purge button, hose guard, and mouthpiece are cracked due to deterioration.
The submersible pressure gauge is a CAVALERO 250 bar model.
The blue teardrop-shaped plate attached to the low-pressure hose is common to S.PRO regulators of that era.
It was used during storage to protect the valve from sticking or deforming by placing it against the purge button to open the valve.
The condition is as shown in the photos.
Sourcing parts and restoring this item would be very difficult.
Would you consider this for your collection or as a historical piece?
