◆ Please read the Teikan (General Policy) in my profile, which applies to all my listings, and the Yakkan (Notes on this Product) at the end of this description.

◇ About 50 years ago, my first cassette deck was the Lo-D D-500, which was rare at the time for having three heads. Hitachi must have been confident in their product. The simultaneous recording/playback monitor not only allowed for music recording but also deepened my interest in the specifications of the tape itself.

◇ After that, I primarily updated my Lo-D decks, eventually reaching the D-909. However, this one was peculiar... As reviewed online these days, it struggled with metal tapes, unable to suppress the high-frequency rise. For records, mid-range high-bias tapes were sufficient to tune the sound to match the source, so in the end, many metal tapes were only tested and then left unused.

■ My preamble has become long, but this is a set of TDK's third-generation metal tapes, MA60 (two types, early and late production) and MA-R60 (final third generation), along with their original catalog flyers (2 sheets). I estimate that neither tape has been used more than 20 times in total, both back then and now.

■ The condition and any defects are generally described in the images. However, as the catalogs are over 40 years old, they show signs of wear and tear, and also have punch holes.
Furthermore, I have reduced the price because I found some rough areas near the leader tape of the MA-R (Image 11).

★ These items have been stored long-term in a dimly lit room indoors. As they are likely products from an era of careful craftsmanship before cost competition, please consider this opportunity.
