Commercial leaders and tippets commonly found in stores are usually made of nylon.

The connection to the tippet is loop-to-loop, so even if there are line troubles,

wind knots are less likely to form, which are also advantages.

The disadvantage is that if a wind knot does form, it is difficult to untie.
