Description
Adidas Soccer Ball
1978 Argentina FIFA World Cup Official Match Ball
Adidas Tango - Genuine - Made in France
A highly sought-after, rare soccer ball for collectors.
The official name of this ball is Tango River Plate, named after a prestigious Argentinian club. The ball was highly regarded even then, and its distinctive triangular black pattern design would go on to be used for many subsequent World Cups.
The Tango, born as the official ball, is a commemorative ball that created countless legends and excitement, becoming an icon of football itself.
Over 45 years have passed since its debut in 1977. As it was stored exposed, there is some age-related deterioration as shown in the photos. It has been stored in its original condition at home without any treatment such as leather conditioning oil, so it is a very old item.
This is not a replica, but an official match ball.
Upon searching on Google etc., while inexpensive Pakistani-made versions are available, only a handful of French-made ones exist worldwide, and they rarely appear on the market.
Please note that the ball will be shipped with some air released.
If you wish to purchase, please send a message in advance.
Addendum:
There are signs of yellowing and scuffing due to storage.
As it has exceeded its service life, please consider purchasing only if you understand this point.
Furthermore, due to recent incidents of product swapping and fraudulent returns, returns and cancellations after purchase are strictly prohibited.
Important Information:
As over 45 years have passed since its sale, the ball cannot be fully inflated.
According to Adidas, the service life of a soccer ball is around 15 years.
Therefore, please consider purchasing with the understanding that it is intended for display purposes only.
