This is a set of center tail feathers from Blue Macaws and Scarlet Macaws (conures).
They are used for the wings and horns of salmon flies and wet flies.
As many of you may know, these were once sold in professional fly shops and have always been a very rare and expensive material.
Even when purchased legitimately over 30 years ago, each center tail feather cost tens of thousands of yen. Macaws are currently one of the most difficult materials to obtain due to strict export and import regulations under CITES.
The macaws being offered in this listing are from before CITES regulations and have some age-related fading, but are being sold as part of a hobby product clear-out.
