This is an original lantern manufactured by R.E. DIETZ. The company was founded in New York, USA in 1840 and currently produces lanterns in overseas factories. It is slightly larger than the Dietz 78 type and Feuerhand lanterns, with a sturdy construction and a solid main body rigidity. It also uses a 5-line wick, making it brighter than lanterns like the Feuerhand lantern. It is a lantern with good balance in terms of size, long burning time, and ease of use. The glass shade may have minor imperfections (scratches, bubbles, variations) due to being handmade, but the glass thickness is sufficient and it is durable. The paint finish is also sufficiently strong and hard, with few imperfections (unevenness, peeling) and a good overall finish. The wick is 15mm (5-line wick) and the brightness is comparable to an 8W light bulb, making it a bright lamp.
