This is a commercial lantern from the Showa era.
The size is approximately:

The main body is made of tin, and the lens part is made of red plastic.

This is a dead stock, unused item, but the top of the box is torn off.
I bought it to use as a tent marker at campsites, but I ended up not using it, so I am listing it for sale.
