Serviced and fully functional Sony TCM-450 monaural cassettecorder

Overview: This is one of the later models produced by Sony's tape recorders. Many are captivated by its slim design and the dual structure of aluminum and resin, but it seems to have been difficult to manufacture, resulting in a small production volume. It's a rare gem in the world of cassette recorders. The unit I am selling is expensive, but I have corrected a defect where the recording level was extremely low.

Features:
- When fast-forwarding or rewinding, the power turns off at the end of the tape (the button will not return. It will restart when the cassette door is opened, so please press the stop button before opening the cassette door.)
- 2x speed mode. You can record for 90 minutes on one side of a 90-minute tape.
- VOR (Voice Operated Recording)
- Variable speed playback
- Tape counter
- External microphone jack
- Cue & Review
- External power jack (3V, EIAJ#1)
- Auto-stop at the end of the tape during recording and playback
- Includes strap (see image 2. If you don't need it, I will reduce the price by 100 yen. Please let me know before purchasing.)

Repair Details: Please refer to images 5 and 6.

Notes:
- This listing is for the main unit only. Please provide 2 AAA batteries (alkaline recommended) separately.
- Unlike my usual listings, this unit has few scratches. However, it is not completely scratch-free, so please refer to image 4.
- If you press the fast-forward or rewind button without a cassette inserted, the power will turn off after a few seconds with the button still pressed.
- This unit is rare in itself, and I am the only one who has modified the ALC circuit. I will ignore price reduction requests unless a competitor appears who offers similar improvements at a lower price. I may reduce the price at my discretion, but the minimum price will be 8000 yen.
- The earphone jack on this unit does not have a complete short between L and R; it distributes the audio+ through a 22Ω resistor. Therefore, when connecting headphones or earphones for both ears, both ears will produce sound, and it will play normally with either a 2-pole or 3-pole monaural earphone.

Packaging and Shipping: Approximately 500g, over 3cm thick. Will be shipped via RakuRaku Mercari Bin Compact. (I will change this after purchase. Your address will only be used to inform you of the estimated arrival.) Please note that this unit, despite its slim design, is 30mm thick and cannot be shipped via Yu-Packet Post.
