Q: Does it have waterproofing?
A: We recommend using the tape primarily for reinforcing the waterproofing of seams. As there are various types of fabrics, it may not completely seal holes depending on the material.
If you repair the hole itself thoroughly with a wet bond adhesive and then use this tape for reinforcement, you can prevent water ingress more effectively.
Using an apparel-specific adhesive will further enhance waterproofing. Of course, it is effective on its own as well.

Personally, I found that water ingress always occurs when seams fray, so I also used it to prevent seam fraying.
I also used it on torn areas of jersey fabric.
To be precise, it doesn't completely prevent water ingress, but it significantly improves durability.
This is my personal opinion, so please use it as a reference.

Q: Are there different types of Melco tape?
A:
When making apparel, elasticity is important as it's used in long lengths of tens of centimeters. However, for repairs, the purpose is to fix small holes or frays of a few centimeters, and this tape fulfills that purpose without issue. It's easier to understand if you think of Melco tape for apparel manufacturing and Melco tape for repairs as separate categories.
Moreover, if you ask whether repair tape can be used for a lifetime, it's not the case, and there will be areas that cannot be fixed with tape. At that point, it's time to replace the item. So, if you use the tape expecting it to last for an average of one season to longer, you won't have to worry as much.
It definitely lasts longer than not repairing it at all!
