TASCAM 688 MIDISTUDIO 8-track Multitrack Recorder

This is a listing for the TASCAM 688 MIDISTUDIO.
This model is known as an analog 8-track integrated recorder.

We have confirmed:
- Input/output on all tracks, recording on each channel
- Playback
- Ping-pong recording

It has been used for music production recently.
The sound has a characteristic analog warmth and thickness.

Microphone input is compatible with XLR (Canon).
Each channel's EQ features:
HIGH / MID (Parametric) / LOW.

There are 2 AUX send channels and 2 stereo effect return channels.
It also has 8-channel tape outputs, allowing for analog output to external mixers or DAWs.

[Regarding Operation]
While we have confirmed power, recording, and playback, please be aware that as this is vintage equipment, there may be some unstable areas.

When using the Play / REC / STOP buttons, the STOP button may sometimes react and stop playback. Re-pressing it stabilizes it, allowing for recording and playback. Jog and FLEX pitch also function. There is a contact issue on channel 2, but it stabilizes after turning the knob a few times. Channel 7's meter is functional but has a weak response.

There are scratches and scuffs consistent with its age. While we believe they are not significant, please refrain from purchasing if you are sensitive to such details. It has been used cleanly in a smoke-free environment. (Please refer to the photos.)
