Denon CD Player DCD-1500, disassembled, cleaned, serviced, and inspected. Fully operational. #Legendary Model of All Time

CD Player Description
This is a basic inspection and maintenance performed by an amateur. It was ranked as one of the top 5 high-end models from the 80s by Rank King, and this #1500 model was among them. I want you to experience the sound of a 100,000 yen class machine. Although it's a 40-year-old unit, it's in good condition. I've done everything I can, and I'm confident it will function without any issues for many years to come. In the unlikely event of a malfunction, I will take full responsibility and respond sincerely. I will not cause you any unpleasantness, so please use and listen to it. Released in 1985, original price ¥99,000. While there were higher-end models, this unit was praised and sold overseas with significant investment, reportedly marketed as a flagship model that surpassed even those higher-end machines. Sadly, very few of these remain today. I want to bring them back to life, but the crucial pickup mechanism costs tens of thousands of yen, making repairs difficult and leading to these units being relegated to obscurity, facing extinction. Features: Burr-Brown 2 DAC PCM54, noise filter, shielded stainless steel case x2, gold-plated terminals, linear tracking, gear-driven suspension spring, horizontal adjustment. Internal mechanism and circuit boards disassembled and cleaned with alcohol. No solder cracks on the back of the circuit boards. Servo adjusted, no skipping. CD-R playback is normal. Both upper and lower pickup lenses cleaned. Headphone jack volume knob disassembled, cleaned with carbon polish, no crackling. Moving parts of the mechanism lubricated, motor bearings oiled. Rubber belt cleaned. Disc and pickup adjusted by 2mm. No time limit for repairs. If there are any operational issues, I will repair it for free, but please cover the shipping costs. Limit switch contacts polished, output terminals polished and cleaned. Fixed and variable outputs confirmed to be functioning normally. The unit is thin but has depth. Custom-made chucking felt replaced. Included as a bonus for fitting into tight spaces. #Gold insulation will be added later, but can be removed by loosening the screws. Another bonus is the headphone jack. For those listening for the first time, I recommend listening through headphones before connecting to an amplifier to get a basic understanding of the sound quality. The sound signature is characterized by a thick midrange and a powerful, substantial bass with a pleasant extension and lingering resonance. The treble may vary depending on your amplifier and speakers, especially the tweeters, and some sibilance may occur with certain tracks, but it's not bothersome. It leans towards a sound similar to vinyl records or tube amplifiers. You can appreciate the difference even with background music. The mellow, rich, and elastic mid-bass overflows, creating a comfortable sound that doesn't cause listening fatigue. It's a player that makes you want to hold a glass in your hand, a player that's bad for your health. Personally, it's indispensable for #jazz and vocals.
