Hull Protection Sheet for Achilles and Other Powerboats

This item is intended for moving rubber boats and protecting the hull.

It's a protective sheet designed to protect the hull from abrasion when moving a powerboat on land with a dolly, or when launching and retrieving from a ramp.

This was used with an Achilles powerboat LF-297 and a previous boat I owned.

My previous boat, before the LF-297, did not have metal grips on the lower front part of the hull. Even with a dolly, I couldn't move the boat on land with cargo loaded without this sheet.

The ramp I used previously had somewhat rough concrete. To protect the hull from abrasion and for transporting the boat, I had a sheet maker custom-produce this. It's made of thick material, similar to truck bed covers, with reinforced corners and a sturdy rope grip. It cost around 24,000 yen. Achilles offers expensive full hull covers, but they are difficult to attach and don't look great. I wanted something better, so I had this custom-made.

After using it about 10 times on the LF-297, the metal grip rubbed against the ramp and scratched the sheet. Although it hasn't torn, I've applied a repair patch as shown in the photos, just in case.

The dimensions are approximately 2770mm at the bottom and 1280mm in height, as shown in the photos.

Important Notes!
This sheet is for use when moving the boat, and during launching and retrieval. If you try to navigate with the outboard motor while the sheet is attached, it will billow in the water, creating resistance and reducing speed.
I used to attach the front end with a carabiner as shown in Photo 1, and loosely fold it to the front when navigating. When returning to port, it takes a little practice, but I would attach the carabiners one by one on each side as shown in Photos 2 and 3.

The carabiners, boat, and the sheet laid out in the photos are not included. The item will be shipped in the condition shown in the last photo (the 17th photo). Please prepare your own carabiners, etc.

This is a somewhat unusual item. Please consider it thoroughly until you are satisfied, and feel free to ask any questions in the comments.

Recently, I only launch from sandy beaches, so this is no longer needed.
