Julian Wilson's AIR17 is a special design model that Julian and I have been working on and refining since 2013. Julian is currently riding a board that is unlike anyone else's.
He has meticulously considered all aspects of design theory and the creation process.
We spent time designing the AIR17 in collaboration with him, a surfer with such refined skills and expertise, who also deeply understands board design.
The key element of the Air17 lies in its substantial core in the center of the board. By distributing the volume slightly towards the front foot and making it thicker, we've achieved instant high-speed drive and acceleration from the take-off. The smooth rails, a flatter rocker towards the center (allowing for the substantial core), a deeper concave, and added curves to the nose and tail, combined with a deeper single-to-double concave than the Monsta, all contribute to making this board a performer series model, enabling fast and forgiving surfing.
The AIR17 is designed to accommodate any surfer and any wave condition. Whether you want to increase your speed in everyday surfing, ride through choppy onshore waves, mushy waves, or perfect overhead waves, this board will take your surfing to the next level.
