HOBIE-VINTAGE (Terry Martin Shape) 9'8"
This is a HOBIE SURFBOARDS VINTAGE 9'8.
This is a rare board shaped by Terry Martin, who served as HOBIE's head shaper for many years and sadly passed away in 2012.
The VINTAGE model, first released by HOBIE in 1965, was the world's first nose rider model and can be considered the root of the nose rider models offered by many brands today.
With a generous 9'8 length, a relatively flat rocker, and a wide tail, the take-off is exceptionally fast, allowing for enjoyable gliding even in small waves.
The wide, shallow nose concave and boxy rails help the board catch the wave even when you're slightly off the power zone, delivering excellent nose riding performance as the name suggests.
I myself experienced nose riding for the first time on this board.
Furthermore, the twin stringers and abstract color scheme make for a rather elaborate specification.
