SQ505X LUXMAN Integrated Amplifier with Banana Plug Terminals - Serviced and Working

This is an integrated amplifier released by Lux in 1971, with a single complementary output power amplifier section delivering 30W+30W (8Ω). The power transistors used are the 2SD188/2SA627, which were adopted in many models at the time. It was a flagship model of Lux's transistor amplifiers, but it was more expensive than competitors' products and was a highly coveted unit.
The design, with round knobs on the upper tier and lever switches on the lower tier, and a toggle switch with accent black knobs dividing the panel into a golden ratio, is an amplifier whose beauty has endured for over half a century. Another excellent feature of this amplifier is its easily maintainable internal structure. This model also marked the first time the power amplifier was modularized and the heat sinks were integrated into the rear panel. Every component, from the toggle switches to the coaxial volume knobs for balance, shows meticulous attention to detail, resulting in a compact and luxurious piece that resembles a work of art.
It reproduces both phono and line sources with excellent sound quality. There is no noticeable crackling or noise from the switches or volume controls.
The AC inlet has been replaced with an IEC type. The plastic parts of the speaker terminals were deteriorated due to UV exposure, so the terminals have been replaced with banana plug-compatible ones that offer sufficient insertion depth. The power supply block capacitors have been replaced with new ones.
DC balance and idle current adjustments have been performed.
This model does not have a muting relay. You may hear a pop noise or see the speaker cones move when the power is turned on. If this is a concern, please use the speaker switch and connect the speakers after the power has been turned on.

A 1.5m power cord is included.

There was a defect in the power amplifier module of one channel, which could not be repaired, so it was transplanted from another unit. There are differences in component layout due to version differences.
