I received this from an acquaintance about 3 years ago who had only used it for trial. I am now organizing my belongings as I have purchased a kayak.
After use, it was rinsed with water and stored indoors. I don't see any scratches that would lead to tears. I used it for about 5 hours of fishing in late July, and there was no tendency for the air to decrease before or after the fishing trip.
The reason for the difficulties is that the valve part in the 9th image is cracked and the spring has come off, so it is basically kept closed and air is released using the pump.
I believe it can be replaced if you have the tool to replace the valve, but it can still be used as is.
