Dice-based, Roll & Write game

House of Cats is a roll & write game where players aim to fill their house with cats, mice, and dice.

The game proceeds simultaneously for all players. Each turn, players choose 3 out of 4 rolled dice and draw the numbers and cat/mouse symbols onto their own sheet. Generally, the three chosen symbols must be drawn adjacent to each other on the same turn.

Numbers 2 through 5, when connected, complete a room. Completing a room allows for special effects such as no longer needing adjacency or the ability to increase or decrease numbers. Cats and Mice become scoring opportunities when specific conditions are met based on their level, but they can interfere with room creation, making their placement a strategic challenge.

The special effects of rooms change with each game, and levels range from 1 to 4, with scoring conditions becoming more difficult on each subsequent sheet. The game's progression varies each time, requiring flexible play. This is a twisty roll & write game, characteristic of a gamer's game designer.
