10cm 2-way Bass Reflex Ver.2 - Looks similar to Yamaha NSxx - DIY Speakers

Ver.2 has slightly boosted the high frequencies that were lacking in Ver.1 and changed the sound to a monitor-like tone, similar to its appearance.
Ver.1's sound was unique and good for long listening sessions, but it lacked the excitement for genres like rock.
So, I reduced the coil capacity of the woofer's high-cut filter to adjust it.
It feels like the recessed part has been restored.

My friend, listening beside me, said, If you put that much effort into something else, you would have succeeded in life.
Heh, it's too late now.

Originally, it was a YAMAHA center speaker, model NS-C105, with a configuration of two 10cm woofers and a tweeter.
I tried listening to it as is, but it was just a bland sound.
So, I cut the center speaker into three pieces.
I cut off the ends for the left and right channels, and the middle part was discarded.
I cut out holes for the tweeters and drilled holes for the terminals.
Then, I attached the bottom panel with the bass reflex port, but...
Since I cut it with a handsaw, it's warped.
I filled the dents with putty and sanded down the protruding parts with a sander.
At this point, I started thinking it would have been better to build it from scratch.

The key feature of this product is the structure of the bottom panel.
Ideally, I would have placed the duct in the center, but the woofer unit was in the way, so I placed it towards the rear.
This would have caused the low frequencies from the duct to escape to the rear, so I sealed it with a board that serves as legs.
This way, the low frequencies from the duct should be directed forward...
I used the original C105 woofers.
For the tweeters, I forgot the manufacturer.
I also hand-cut and attached the metal mesh for the tweeters, but some distortion is to be expected, so please forgive me.
The cabinet also has quite a few scratches, so please be aware!
Dimensions: Height 250mm, Width 133mm, Depth 160mm.

Listening Test:
At first, I played it with the woofers directly connected, and the high frequencies were piercing.
This unit has a very high output, so I added a high-cut coil.
Then, it sounded completely different, but now it was too subdued.
In Ver.2, I used a smaller coil to bring back the energy.
Perhaps due to the effect of the bottom duct, it has a mature sound quality and gives off a high-end feel.
The appearance is also excellent.
It's reminiscent of YAMAHA's NS-1000M~10M series.
I attached a YAMAHA badge to cover the holes for the dowel receivers, making it look like an NS-xx model.
