FF57BK DIY Speakers Pair, Shina Plywood, Paperback Size, with Conversion Cable

This is a pair of handmade, compact bass-reflex passive speakers using FOSTER (Fostex) FF57BK units. They were meticulously crafted over a decade ago and have been carefully stored and used since.

[Key Features of These Speakers]
● High-precision router processing: Both the front edges are rounded (chamfered), and the unit mounting area and rear terminal area are recessed (flush-mounted). This design allows each part to sit flush with the baffle, ensuring aesthetic appeal and authentic construction that minimizes sound diffraction.
● Carefully selected wood material: Shina plywood is used, with 12mm for the front and 9mm for the other panels. After over a decade since construction, the wood has dried well, offering a natural, dry resonance that MDF cannot achieve.
● Ready-to-use conversion cables included: The rear terminals are screw-type Y-terminals for secure connection, but we've included a pair of special conversion cables that allow you to connect your existing banana plug cables directly.

[Condition]
- Sound output confirmed for this listing. Excellent imaging, ideal for desktop use.
- Due to a processing error during construction, the area near the bass-reflex port on one speaker has been repaired with putty (see image 8).
- One unit's cone paper had a small hole of approximately 0.8mm, which has been carefully repaired with wood glue, a common method for acoustic repairs (see image 9). Post-repair listening tests show no distortion or imbalance between the left and right channels; they sound good.
- As they are unpainted, there are slight changes in color due to age, but there are no major scratches or cracks.

We recommend these for anyone who appreciates the charm of DIY audio or wishes to upgrade their desktop setup. They will be carefully packed and shipped.
