Service Price: Live Shipping + Shipping Included - Murex Shells - Generous 5kg Box Included

Thank you for viewing.

This is a listing for Mytilus galloprovincialis (purple mussel) for fishing bait.

Includes box, 5kg, ships as 80 size. Can be frozen if there are leftovers.

These are Mytilus galloprovincialis. They are in the same mussel family as Mytilus edulis and are similar in appearance, with slight color variations as shown in the images. The fishing results are said to be the same as Mytilus edulis. As they are easier to obtain during this season, we are listing them as Mytilus galloprovincialis.

The size ranges from less than 3cm to 0.5cm, with no specific sorting, and includes the box for a total of 5kg. As we do not sort them finely, there may be some larger or smaller ones than the 3-0.5cm range. We will remove as much dirt, cracked shells (including those already open and dead), barnacles, and seaweed as possible, but some may still be included. If there are leftovers, we will pack more than 5kg.

② As shown in the photo, some are clumped together with byssal threads, while others are individual. They are not sorted.

③ We also accept date requests. As these are live mussels, we keep them in a special net in the sea after harvesting. If there are continuous high waves or typhoons, we may ask you to change the date. Delivery to Okinawa Prefecture and some remote islands is not possible.

④ Since these are for fishing bait and not for human consumption, they will be shipped via standard delivery in a styrofoam box with ice packs.
We have shipped over 800 orders of mussels without any reports of spoilage, so please rest assured.

If you have any other requests, such as changes to the quantity or if you want larger ones, please ask. We cannot reply to comments after the auction ends, so please re-ask your question when we relist the item.
