This series is likely the first of its kind in Japan as a shogi mat made from artificial tatami. Previously, mats made from igusa (rushes) were prone to decay and discoloration, leading to poor reviews. Consequently, tatami mats for shogi boards have been in short supply. We also realized the demand for such large sizes. Significant time and effort were invested in production, with numerous trials and errors, to finally achieve this result. Naturally, both the tatami and fabric were carefully selected for this handmade product.
