Hidariuma (left-facing horse) is a unique shogi piece originating from Tendo City. It is considered an auspicious charm, symbolizing a life without setbacks, as horses are said to fall if mounted from the right, while a left-facing horse, mounted from the left, will not fall. Additionally, the lower part of the horse resembles a drawstring pouch, which is said to symbolize wealth and prosperity.
