With cracks and a smoky aroma.
These firewood splitting blocks are made from zelkova or oak planks.
Zelkova and oak are extremely hard wood types that are resistant to cracking.
(Conifers like hinoki and cedar are weak. That's why it's easy to split firewood from conifers.)

Furthermore, planks are significantly stronger than cross-sections and are less likely to crack.

These splitting blocks are made from logs that cannot be cross-cut (diameter 40-60cm), thoroughly dried, and then split into planks.

[Our Commitment]
- Using a horizontal laser ensures near-perfect horizontality. Any warping during the drying process is adjusted through planing and sanding.

- Can also be used as a cutting board or for placing food.
(No petroleum-based oils or waxes used)

- Although stored indoors after completion, we will sterilize them in a high-temperature drying machine for approximately 1 hour before shipping and reapply a safe oil wax (secret: edible) to both sides as a precaution.

- We utilize a smoke heat drying system (charring process).

[Safety]
No chainsaw oil or petroleum oil adheres to the surface as chainsaws were not used.
We only use materials that are safe enough to be used as cutting boards, serving boards, or plates.

- Size, shape, and crack condition are as shown in the photos. (There may be insect damage marks, which are either removed by sanding or intentionally left. They are as shown in the photos, but we can provide additional photos if unclear.)

- If you desire a handle made of genuine leather or paracord, please message us before purchasing.
For genuine leather grips on these plank-style splitting blocks, we will attach it once and then ship it with the screws removed so you can reattach the grip yourself. This will cost 400 yen. Please attach it yourself using a screwdriver upon arrival. If you have any questions, please message us.

[Production Process]
Logs are aged for several years, then sawn into planks and dried before the splitting blocks are made. Beeswax and other waxes are applied.

These can be used not only as firewood splitting blocks but also for placing food or as a makeshift cutting board.
