1970 Timex Vintage Mechanical Field Watch Black Dial Date 24HR Running New Strap

Up for sale is a very attractive vintage 1970 Timex mechanical wristwatch, featuring a classic black military/field-style dial and a new black strap.  The black dial has excellent vintage character, with large white Arabic numerals, an inner 13–24 hour military-time scale, minute track, luminous hour plots and luminous-filled hands. A contrasting red sweep seconds hand adds a great touch of color, while the framed date window at 3 o’clock completes the field-watch look.  The dial is marked TIMEX / WATERPROOF / GREAT BRITAIN. The code at 6 o’clock reads 1178 2570, with the “70” indicating 1970 production and the movement code corresponding to the Timex Model 25 mechanical movement.  The original luminous material still reacts strongly under UV light, as shown in the photographs.  Condition  The watch is running well at the time of listing. It winds, runs and the hands set properly.  The watch remains in honest vintage condition. The case and stainless-steel back show normal scratches, marks and finish wear from age and use.
