Schreter developed its button-down necktie concept in the early 1950s, with three buttonholes allowing the narrow end of the tie to attach directly to the wearer's shirt buttons. The style was being commercially sold by 1954. This example combines that unusual construction with a very cool textured stripe pattern and woven crest, making it an excellent piece of vintage men's fashion with strong Mad Men, Atomic Age, and mid-century appeal.
