This item is a vintage mid-century Siamese (Thai) sterling silver brooch crafted with traditional nielloware technique. The centerpiece features an inlaid black metallic alloy panel engraved with Mekkala (Goddess of Lightning) throwing her flashing crystal ball to blind Ramasoon (God of Thunder), who is shown chasing her while holding his cosmic axe. The dark niello background beautifully contrasts with the hand-engraved silver figures, all framed by an intricate openwork, scrolling flame-style border. Marked as Sterling and Made in Siam. Ref: LR
