Description

This is the Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter (A1790).

This adapter allows you to connect Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 devices, such as external hard drives and Thunderbolt docks, to any Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) and USB 4 port on your Mac.
It's a bidirectional adapter, so you can also connect new Thunderbolt 3-enabled devices to a Mac with a Thunderbolt port or Thunderbolt 2 port and macOS Sierra or later.
You can also use it to connect Thunderbolt-enabled displays, such as the Apple Thunderbolt Display or LG Thunderbolt 2 Display, to the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) and USB 4 ports on your Mac. However, when using it with the Apple Thunderbolt Display, you will need a separate power supply as the display cannot be powered through the adapter.
