Vintage Cast Iron Colonial Soldier Nutcracker Lever Red Wood Base Christmas

A wonderfully quirky vintage cast iron nutcracker that doubles as functional kitchenware and old-fashioned holiday decor. This mechanical lever-style nutcracker features a hand-painted colonial soldier figure with blond hair, rosy cheek, dark uniform, blue-topped hat and a gold-tone sword. The heavy black cast iron cracking mechanism is mounted securely to a bright red painted wood base. Lift the long lever handle to open the serrated cracking area, place a nut inside and press the handle down. The sculptural soldier design gives it plenty of character even when simply displayed. Perfect for a Christmas kitchen, holiday bar setup, rustic cabin, farmhouse display or collection of unusual vintage kitchen tools and nutcrackers. Preowned vintage condition with visible paint/finish wear, scuffs and oxidation to hardware consistent with age and use. No maker marking is visible in the photos. Please review all photos closely for condition.
