Vintage Indian Patchwork Wall Hanging Tapestry, 3x5, by Karma Highway wall decor
Karma Highway
a famous style of handmade textile art originating from the desert regions of Rajasthan and Gujaratm in Northwest India Upcycled Heritage Textiles: The tapestry is made by salvaging and cutting segments of discarded traditional Indian clothing like bridal saris, lehengas, and dowry dresses. Each patch carries its own unique history. Intricate Embellishments: Artisans enhance these patches using Abla or Shisha (traditional mirror work), which bounces and catches light beautifully. You can also spot heavy thread embroidery, metallic Zardozi wiring, and ornate geometric patterns. The Mosaic Assembly: Once sorted, we carefully select and cut fabric... rearranging and sowing together into beautiful collages. The pieces are stitched onto a thick, supportive cotton base fabric and neatly framed by a solid dark outer border.Because these are assembled entirely by hand out of vintage material fragments, no two tapestries are ever identical, making your piece completely one-of-a-kind.
