Description
Beautiful Japanese Kutani porcelain presentation plate by Kinzan Kiln (Kinzangama), featuring elaborate polychrome enamel decoration with extensive gold gilt throughout. The central design features a colorful bird surrounded by large peony blossoms, flowering branches, foliage and rockwork. The richly decorated ground is finished with an ornate scrolling gold border, creating a striking display piece characteristic of Kinzan's celebrated use of gold decoration. The underside bears the 九谷錦山 (Kutani Kinzan) kiln mark. Kinzan Kiln was established in Ishikawa, Japan in 1906 and became particularly known for its highly detailed gold-decorated Kutani ware. Based on the mark, porcelain body and decorative style, this piece is believed to date to the Showa period, likely circa 1950s–1970s. Measures approximately 12-1/4 in diameter. Preowned vintage condition with age-related surface wear and some wear to the gilt decoration consistent with age and display. No chips or cracks observed. Please review all photos carefully for exact condition and details.
