A beautiful vintage mid-century French corkscrew featuring a stunning handle crafted from a natural, gnarled grapevine root burl. This piece showcases incredible rustic texture and a polished finish that fits beautifully and ergonomically in the hand. Handle: Hand-assembled, smooth varnished natural grapevine root burl with distinct grain and organic twists. Mechanism: Open-helix wire worm with a center-core hole designed to safely extract corks without tearing them. Hardware: Sturdy brass rivet pin anchoring the shank into the wood frame. Markings: Completely unmarked shank/collar, which is highly characteristic of local regional artisans or Laurent Siret pieces that originally utilized paper/foil adhesive labels rather than metal stamping. Estimated Era: Mid-20th Century (circa 1950s - 1970s). Condition: Good vintage condition with authentic patina on the metal and minor surface aging expected of a functional barware piece.
