Handmade Flamenco Stand Collar American Sleeve Vibrant Spanish Fabric

This is a dress with a panel of fabric added to the falda (skirt) section.

The floral fabric was sourced from Spain. It has been praised for its slimming effect and for making the wearer appear taller.

The hem of the falda is finished with bias tape.

This is handmade, but it was made in a dressmaking class I attend. I worked with the teacher from pattern making to the actual sewing.

The stand-up collar closes with a snap closure instead of a hook-and-eye, as I was concerned about it coming undone (see photo 4). The floral fabric is likely cotibo. It was imported from Spain.

The lower part is made of smooth fabric, often used for flamenco practice skirts. It is slightly sheer, so it's recommended to wear a petticoat on stage.

Bust: 43cm (flat measurement, no padding)
Waist: 36cm
Hips (20cm below waist): 48cm
Length: 132cm from the base of the stand-up collar to the hem (please allow for slight variations).

Mannequin size: 81-63-93 (cm)
