Antique Vintage Yo Yo Yoyo Circle Popcorn Handmade Sewn Quilt Coverlet 52”x84”

Beautiful vintage handmade yo yo quilt made from hundreds of colorful scrap fabric circles stitched together in a classic patchwork pattern.  This quilt measures approximately 52 x 84 inches and is constructed from a wide variety of cotton fabrics including florals stripes gingham solids and other small prints. Each piece was individually gathered and hand stitched together creating the traditional yo yo quilt design.  Based on the layout the quilt contains approximately 2000 plus individual yo yo pieces, making it a very detailed example of this style of textile work. There are 58 circles along the long side, by 38 circles along the short side.  Yo yo quilts were commonly made from leftover fabric scraps and clothing pieces which gives each quilt a unique mix of colors and patterns. Pieces like this are often collected as examples of American folk art and vintage textile craftsmanship.  This quilt does not contain batting or a backing layer, which is typical of traditional yo yo quilts.  Photos were taken on top of a queen sized bed.  Condition:  Very nice, vintage pre owned condition.  One of the yo yos has come undone & could be repaired. I noticed a couple very small stains.
