This presser foot allows you to adjust the amount of gathering by turning the screw located at the back of the foot. It's a hybrid type presser foot that can also be used for normal sewing when the screw is completely loosened. (*)
Furthermore, since it gathers fabric using only the presser foot without the need for elastic, you can easily create gathers simply by attaching the presser foot.
While adjustment is possible with the presser foot alone, you can further vary the amount of gathering by widening the stitch length using the feed adjustment dial. Conversely, narrowing the stitch length allows for techniques like shirring.
(*) Note: If the fabric is thin, there is a slight possibility of gathering occurring even during normal sewing.
