Description
The Real McCoy (the genuine article) COLT M1911 Chateau Thierry Genuine Model Gun (non-firing), unopened and brand new.
The Real McCoy's model gun production began in 1997 with the release of the Six Ken supervised Springfield Armory 1911, limited to 1000 units for ¥39,000. However, due to the ABS resin material, it was not a true Real McCoy. They developed a material called Super Rock Lite 2, which has the same specific gravity as iron (later adopted by Elan), and recreated all details, parts, and weight of the real firearm, completing the Colt-licensed Real McCoy.
In 2000, they released the Colt-licensed Chateau Thierry genuine non-firing model, limited to 150 units for ¥139,000. The following year, they released the non-licensed firing M1911, limited to 500 units for ¥95,000. However, the manufacturing required skilled techniques such as lathe cutting of hard materials and case hardening, taking 6 hours to produce a single unit, making it impossible for mass production.
Due to increased costs, they were forced to declare bankruptcy in 2001.
The Real McCoy (the genuine article) closed its doors in just two years.
This listing is for a Colt-authorized non-firing genuine model, specially produced in a limited run of 150 units based on the Colt-certified genuine Chateau Thierry custom specification model. The serial number is engraved as #6 out of 150, making it a rare item.
It is a victory commemorative model featuring HOGUE wooden grips with a 24K rose gold medallion at the center, engraved with the names of the Allied nations of World War I.
The muzzle of the Colt-authorized model is blocked with the COLT logo, differentiating it from non-authorized models. After purchase, it was stored in its original packaging film, unopened, after being viewed through a crystal case.
The instruction manual, spanning 39 pages, is extremely detailed and worth seeing in itself.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire an unopened, top-of-the-line model gun manufactured 25 years ago, with a maximum of 150 units in existence.
Please do not miss this chance.
