An evolution of the ultra-compact HF to 430MHz mobile transceiver.
Despite its extremely small size, features like a large tuning knob and switches comparable to base station models were incorporated to prioritize operability, resulting in a novel design. It can be widely used by MOBILE DX'ers who want to enjoy exciting HF operation anytime in their mobile or field setups, as well as beginners who want to start amateur radio on various bands.

Purchased in 2020, it was stored as a backup unit, used only once or twice a year. It has never been installed in a vehicle or the like, and after each use for testing, it was stored back in its original box. Compared to its successor, the FT-891, this model has very low power consumption and still holds a significant advantage. In recent years, it has become difficult to find units in good condition, so this is a first-come, first-served opportunity for those looking for one.
