S'mores are a huge hit with both kids and adults at campsites!
Many people consider roasted marshmallows over a campfire a classic campfire dessert for barbecues and BBQs! S'mores are made by sandwiching those roasted marshmallows between crackers with chocolate.
The name s'more is said to come from children asking for some more! due to their deliciousness, and the phrase was shortened to s'more.
What you'll need:
- Marshmallows
- Chocolate bar (blocks are fine too)
- Crackers
- Skewers for marshmallows
1. Place chocolate on one cracker.
2. Skewer marshmallows and roast them over a flame.
3. Once the marshmallows are lightly browned and melted inside, place them on the chocolate from step 1, and sandwich with another cracker.
4. Remove the skewer, and it's done!
Instructions:
Marshmallows taste best when roasted until lightly browned. The key is to sandwich the marshmallow with the crackers *before* removing the skewer! If you try to remove it before sandwiching, it's hot and melted, making it quite tricky.
These skewers can also be used for general barbecue purposes, not just for marshmallows.
They can securely skewer items like cheese, seafood such as shrimp and squid, and lighter meats like small cuts of meat or roast beef.
